A new home for these notes
This is the first post on the rebuilt version of my site. The old one ran on WordPress and had not been touched since 2021, when I was still writing about Azure MLOps. Since then my work has moved to spatial omics — a doctorate on the subject, and now a research role at the Wellcome Sanger Institute — so the site needed to say something rather different.
What it runs on
The whole thing is a static site built with Astro and hosted on GitHub Pages. Publications, news and projects live in typed data files, so adding a paper is a three-line diff rather than a session in an admin panel. Posts are plain Markdown.
What I plan to write
Mostly notes adjacent to the papers — the parts that do not survive the journey into a methods section:
- design decisions in graph models for tissue, and the ones that did not work
- practical notes on training and evaluating models on spatial omics data
- occasional writing on research engineering
You can subscribe via RSS if that is still your thing. It is certainly still mine.
